Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
In short: we use your data to answer your inquiries, sell and deliver containers, and (only if you ask) remind you about a saved cart. Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you accept them. We do not sell your personal information for money, we honor the Global Privacy Control signal, and you can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data by writing to sales@econtainers.co.
1. Who We Are
Econtainers Global LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a Florida limited liability company with offices at 66 West Flagler Street #6559, Miami, FL 33130, United States, operates the online container shops Econtainers USA (econtainers.co/us) and Econtainers Global (econtainers.co/global). For the personal data described in this policy we are the data controller (in Colombia, the responsable del tratamiento).
The Colombian site econtainers.co (without /us or /global) is operated by Econtainers S.A.S., a company of the Econtainers group in Colombia, under its own privacy policy. Where Econtainers S.A.S. helps us serve you (for example, a sales advisor answering your inquiry), it does so on our instructions and under this policy.
Privacy contact: sales@econtainers.co (subject "Privacy request"). We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer.
2. Personal Data We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact and quote forms: name, email, phone, company, your message, and the page and site (/us or /global) you wrote from.
- "Text us" widget: name, phone number and message.
- Newsletter: email address and whether you want USA or worldwide inventory news.
- Shopping cart and checkout: the containers in your cart, name, email, phone, delivery address or pickup choice, and, if you tick them, your email and/or text-message reminder choices (with the date and the version of the wording you agreed to).
- Account (optional): name, email and password, or your basic Google profile if you sign in with Google.
- Payment: payments are made on Stripe's hosted checkout page. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe sends us the order, amount, email and payment status.
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location on contact forms: when a contact form loads, your browser asks an IP-location service (ipapi.co, or ipinfo.io as fallback) for your approximate city, region, country, ISP and time zone, which is sent with your inquiry so the right team answers.
- Analytics and journey data — only with your consent: our first-party identifiers
ec_vidandec_sid, pages viewed, products viewed, cart and checkout steps, WhatsApp and phone-link clicks, how you reached us (campaign tags, referring site, landing page), and Google Analytics, Metricool and Zoho PageSense (heatmaps) data. Ad click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid) are kept only with marketing consent. - Anonymous page counts — no consent needed, no personal data: every page view is counted in daily totals (page path, site, device type, referring site, campaign source/medium). No cookie, no identifier, no IP address and no user agent is stored, so nothing links two page views together.
- Server logs: our hosting provider (Google Cloud) records standard request logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested) for security and operations.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, health data or precise geolocation) through this website.
3. How and Why We Use Your Data
The table shows each purpose and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the legal basis under the GDPR. For people in Colombia these are the purposes (finalidades) of the processing you authorize under Ley 1581 de 2012.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Answer inquiries, quotes and messages; record them in our CRM (Zoho CRM) | Contact details, message, approximate location | Steps you request before a contract (art. 6(1)(b)); legitimate interest in answering business inquiries (art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Sell, invoice, release or deliver your containers and give support | Order, contact, delivery and payment status | Performance of a contract (art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Keep tax, accounting and payment records | Order and payment records | Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Save your cart and send the email/text reminders you ticked | Cart, name, email and/or phone | Consent (art. 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it at any time |
| Send newsletter and inventory news | Email, inventory preference | Consent (art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Analytics: understand how the shop is used and which channels lead to orders | Cookie identifiers, browsing and funnel events | Consent (art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy rules) |
| Advertising measurement (Google Ads tag) | Cookie identifiers, ad click ids | Consent (art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy rules) |
| Anonymous daily page counts | No personal data | Not applicable (anonymous) |

We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Marketing Emails and Text Messages
- Only when you opt in. Cart reminders are sent only if you tick the email box and/or the text-message box in the cart. The two are separate; neither is required to buy.
- What and how often. A short sequence about the cart you left (today up to two emails and one text per cart, never more than six messages). Reminders stop as soon as you pay, empty the cart or opt out.
- Email opt-out. Every email identifies us, includes our postal address and has a one-click unsubscribe link (also offered to your mail app through the List-Unsubscribe header). Opt-outs are applied immediately and kept on a suppression list so you are not emailed again.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Texts are sent only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in every time zone of the contiguous United States (11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time). Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms.
- We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email to send inventory news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to sales@econtainers.co.
7. International Transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers store data mainly in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we transfer your data to the U.S. relying on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) where the recipient is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum) otherwise.
If you are in Colombia, your data is transferred to the United States, a country the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) lists as providing an adequate level of protection, or otherwise on the basis of your authorization.
8. How Long We Keep Data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Browsing and funnel events, visitor and session records (with analytics consent) | Deleted automatically 400 days (about 13 months) after the last activity; the events of a paid order are kept with the order, and the event recording an inquiry you submitted is kept with that inquiry (see "Inquiries and leads" below) |
| Saved carts | Deleted 400 days after the last activity (a cart that became an order is kept with the order) |
| Your name, email and phone on a saved cart | Removed 90 days after the last activity on the cart |
| Email and SMS opt-outs (suppression list) | Kept for as long as needed to honor your opt-out |
| Orders, invoices and payment records | For the period required by tax and accounting law |
| Payment notifications received from Stripe | 1 year |
| Inquiries and leads in our CRM | Up to 5 years from collection, or until you ask us to delete them |
| Newsletter subscriptions | Until you unsubscribe |
| Internal audit log of staff changes in our admin tools | 2 years |
| Anonymous daily page counts | Kept as aggregate statistics (no personal data) |
| Cookies and browser storage | See the Cookie Policy |
9. Security
The shop is served only over HTTPS. Card payments happen on Stripe's PCI-compliant hosted checkout, so card numbers never reach our servers. Sign-in uses an HttpOnly cookie, access to customer data is limited to authorized staff and recorded in an audit log, and providers are bound to protect the data they process for us. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
10. Your Privacy Rights
United States (California and other states)
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and of other states with consumer privacy laws may ask us to: know and access the personal information we hold, including the categories and sources; correct it; delete it; receive a portable copy; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require a "limit" option, we do not offer financial incentives for data, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address, cookie IDs), commercial information (carts and orders), internet activity (pages and products viewed), approximate geolocation, and professional information (company name). We have not sold personal information for money. With marketing consent, identifiers and internet activity may have been "shared" with advertising partners.
We verify requests by matching the email or phone you used with us. You may use an authorized agent with your signed permission. We answer within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days when necessary, with notice). If we decline your request you may appeal by replying to our answer with the subject "Appeal"; we will answer the appeal within the period your state law sets and tell you how to contact your state Attorney General.
European Union, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data; to restrict or object to processing (including an absolute right to object to direct marketing); to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. We answer within one month, extendable by two more months for complex requests (we will tell you). You can also complain to your local data protection authority or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Colombia (Ley 1581 de 2012 — Habeas Data)
Under Ley 1581 de 2012 and Decreto 1377 de 2013 (now in Decreto 1074 de 2015) you have the right to know, update and rectify your data; request proof of your authorization; be informed of how your data is used; revoke your authorization and/or request deletion (supresión) when there is no legal or contractual duty to keep it; access your data free of charge; and file complaints with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) once you have first submitted your request to us.
- Queries (consultas): answered within 10 business days of receipt; if we cannot meet that term we will tell you why and answer within 5 more business days.
- Claims (reclamos) to correct, update or delete data, or about a breach of the law: answered within 15 business days of receipt, extendable by 8 more business days with notice. Include your identification, a description of the facts, your address and any supporting documents; if the claim is incomplete we will ask you to complete it within 5 days, and if you do not within 2 months we will consider it withdrawn.

- Email sales@econtainers.co with the subject "Privacy request", saying which right you want to exercise and which site you used.
- Call +1 (709) 501-5024.
- To opt out of sale/sharing or change cookie choices: , or turn on Global Privacy Control.

11. Children
Our shop is meant for adults and businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or sell or share the data of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
